International Mathematical Olympiad 1998 (Taipei, Taiwan) Scores

At the 1998 IMO held in Taipei, Taiwan, 419 contestants from 76 countries competed. 37 gold medals were awarded to those scoring at least 31; 66 silver medals were awarded to those scoring from 24 to 30; and 102 bronze medals were awarded to those scoring from 14 to 23.

The maximum individual score possible was 42 (which only one contestant attained). The mean individual score was 14.773, with a standard deviation of 10.689. The following table shows how many contestants attained each possible score.
